2010 Shenandoah Valley Bass Outlaws Rules
Article I. Membership
Section 1.01 Club Dues
(a) Club dues is $35.00 for the 2010 season.
(b) Club dues can be paid at first tournament, guest fishing with the club to earn membership will be voted in and pay dues before being eligible for pay out at tournaments.
Section 1.02 Earning Membership
(a) Membership is obtained by fishing as a guest at least once and receiving a majority vote in by current members, once voted in the member will receive any points earned when fishing as a guest..

Section 1.03 Maintaining Membership
(a) Members should attend scheduled tournaments as your schedule permits.You must attend at least one club meeting in a calendar year.
(b) Obey the code of conduct.
(1) If you lose your partner you can add a new one if they become a member.Only one partner switch allowed a year.
Section 1.04 Membership Benefits
(a) Help change club rules including: lakes and rivers fished, tournament dates, and points structure.
Section 1.05 Code of conduct
(a) Positive attitude during tournaments.
(b) Obey all rules of the Shenandoah Valley Bass Outlaws, along with all local and lake or river laws during tournaments
(c) Prefishing is not allowed from Saturday to Saturday one week before a tournament to tournament start.
(d) There shall be no actions detrimental to the club or the sport of bass fishing.
(1) No outboards till after 3:15 if you use them your fish are disqualified.
(2) Lightning is your judgement call to make.If you leave the water for safety you can return and fish.Club not resposible if you stay on the water.
Section 1.06 Revoking Membership
(a) Club members vote weather to remove a member form the club for the following reasons:
1) violation of any club rule
2) representing the club in a negative way
(b) Club dues will not be refunded to an angler who has had their membership revoked.
Article II. Tournament Rules
Section 2.01 Lakes and Rivers Fished.
(a) Lakes and rivers will be chosen by club members.
(b) In the event that something prevents the club from fishing a tournament, then another lake or river/date will be chosen that is agreed upon.If it's due to bad weather it will be done that morning at the lake or river.There will be no make up date and every team that shows up that morning recevives 50 points.
Section 2.02 Tournament Process
(a) Tournament Director
(i) This member will be in charge of a checking in before a tournament starts and paying there tournament fees. All livewells will also be checked prior to start.
(ii) Controls the weight in.
(b) If member shows up late they must find the tournament director or a officer on the lake for a livewell check.
(c) Tournament will be from 7am to 3pm.
(d) All anglers must be at boat ramp at completion time.Violation of this rule will result in a 4 ounce penalty per minute up to 15 minutes late.This penalty applies to all anglers on board the boat.
Section 2.03 Guest
(a) Guest may fish with the club one time and then must be voted in or out, they will also not compete for tournament awards..
(b) Guest must obey the Shenandoah Valley Bass Outlaws code of conduct or risk the banning from future events.
Article III. Fish Limit
(a) Only Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth will be counted no hybrids and rock bass are allowed.limit is 5. Total weight of catch will determine where you place in the event. All bass must be caught within the start and complete time.
(b)No Dead fish allowed
(c) Only your teams best 5 fish will be allowed to weight in.
(d) Tie Breakers
(i) If anglers have the same combined weight of bass then the angler with the largest fish will assume the highest position. Next tie breaker will be length of fish.
(e) If anglers do not have bass to weigh in then last place points will be given.If there is more than one team with out fish the points will be given by point standings order.
(f) In the event that no one catches a fish then the awards pot will be added to the next event.
(g) Awards will not be given to those who do not catch a fish, if 1st place is the only position that has a fish for weigh in then the full tournament awards will be presented to that angler.
Article IV. Fishing Rules
(a) Bank fishing is not allowed.
(b) Maximum of two anglers per boat.
(c) Only rod at a time per angler. No trolling for fish: defined as the intent of catching a fish by using the motion of the boat.
(d) No live bait: Berkley Gulp and other similar type worms, pork trailers, and natural scent allowed.
(e) Penalty for any infraction above result in disqualification. Any other violation with out a clear penalty in the rule book will be decided by a club vote.
Article V. Tournament Fees and Awards
Section 5.01 Fees
(a) $25 a team per tournament
Section 5.02 Fee Disbursement
(a) $20 a team of the fees collected will go toward the tournament awards pot.
(b) $5 of fees per team will go toward the club.
Section 5.03 Tournament Payout
(a) 1-8 boats 1st place payout only
(b) 9-12 boats 1st and 2nd place payout.1st place 70% and 2nd place 30%
(c) 13+ boats 1st,2nd and 3rd place payout.1st place 60%,2nd place 30% and 3rd place 10%
Article VI. Point System
Section 6.01 Five bonus points given for largest bass

Article VII. Article V. Season Awards (a)1st,2nd,and 3rd in points for the year.
(b)1st place Club Classic and rookie of the year.
Article VIII. Club Treasury
((a) Member dues will be added to the club treasury
(b) May pay for web site,scales, and/or any item needed by the club to function.
Any extra funds will be used to pay Club Classic and points winners (50/50)
Article IX. Rule changes and amendments
(a) Rules can be changed or amended by club officers with support of club members.All changes will happen after a meeting and club vote.
